Adjudication or Payment Date
Description
I have a question in regards to the 837 P 5010, in loop 2330B DTP03 which the description is “Adjudication or Payment Date”. My question is which date is the actual adjudication date or payment date, the date on the remittance advice or the date we received the payment?
RFI Response
The Loop 2330B DTP segment “Claim Check or Remittance Date” is used to convey the date the check or remittance was issued by the prior payer. When the remittance information is sent in an 835 Health Care Claim Payment/Advice transaction, this is identified in BPR16. If the remittance is sent via paper, the date on which the check or remittance was issued is the date to enter.
