In the 2220D Loop the STC01 - 2 is the LOINC® Code that defines the additional information being requested.
In the LOINC search database https://search.loinc.org/ come up a list of System X12^277 codes.
Are these the only codes that are allowed to be used in the 277RFAI (005010X213) segment? Or should the transaction be able to support any valid LOINC code (for example, clicnical LOINC codes like blood pressure)?
The 277 Health Care Claim Request for Additional Information (005010X213) does not define or specify for use within the transaction a subset of Logical Observation Identifier Names and Codes (LOINCs). The second sub-element (-02) of the STC01, STC10 and STC11 elements is defined as Code Source 663 - Logical Observation Identifier Names and Codes (LOINC®). Consequently, from the perspective of the 005010X213 guide, any code within the 663 Code Source can be used.
