Dup Clm # with CARC 18 -835
Description
Can you advise if there is any place in the TR3/X12 to identify when you use CARC 18 (duplicate) the claim that it is a duplicate of? If not can it be discussed to add this to future guide a new field at claim and line level? I did not recall in prior meetings if this was something discussed for the next guide - thanks

The current guide does not explicitly support the reporting of a duplicate claim number. While the REF F8 could theoretically be used for this purpose, that is not its intended use. Therefore, we recommend that F8 not be used. If there is a business need for reporting the duplicate claim number, please initiate a DSMO or a change request.
