SV103 F2 from 4010 to 5010
Description

For SV103 (Unit or Basis for Measurement Code) in 837P, v4010 has an available qualifier of F2 (International Unit), which is no longer available in v5010. If we have a v4010 submitter and need to convert the claim to v5010 for the payer, does X12 have a recommendation as to how to handle this? Should F2 be converted to something else or should the claim be rejected back to the provider, so it can be updated to an available v5010 option?

RFI Response

The F2 Qualifer, International Unit which is used to indicate the dosage amount is supported in version 5010 in the Loop 2410 CTP05-01, CTP - Drug Quantity element.

RFI Recommendation

The Work Group recommends you report UN in the SV103 with the appropriate unit count in the SV104. Use the CTP04 to report the Drug Quantity with the CTP05-01 F2.
