In version 4010A1, Loop 2410 Drug Identification information including the LIN segment can be repeated 25 times for a service line. To send more than 25 iterations, a second service line is used with the same information in the segments in the 2400 loop, including Revenue Code in the SV2 segment.
In version 5010, Loop 2410 Drug Identification information is limited to one per service line. A separate service line must be sent for each iteration of Drug Identification information. The information in the 2400 service line loop, such as Revenue Code, is to be completed using data applicable to the NDC reported in the LIN segment. The 2410 REF is used to link the ingredients that make up a compound.
