As a followup question to HIR#851, is it the workgroup's intention to change the usage of OI05 in Loop 2320 to at least Situational (if not Required) in order to allow the reporting of non-Destination payer Accept Assignment values, thus becoming a crosswalk from CLM07 when doing COB? If not, why not?
The work group is not currently planning to change the usage of OI05 for the next version, as no business case has been presented for doing so.
The 837 work group recommends that the submitter bring this topic forward as a change request to the Designated Standards Maintenance Organizations' web site (www.hipaa-dsmo.org) or directly to the X12N/TG2/WG2 (837) workgroup co-chairs via e-mail (see the Work Groups link on www.x12n.org/portal) stating the business rationale.
