X12 standards information embedded in IBM Software are protected by copyright and other intellectual property of X12 Incorporated, a non-profit organization chartered by the American National Standards Institute to develop and maintain EDI standards and XML schemas. In order to provide and fund these activities in serving American industry, X12 is willing to grant to customers of IBM Software a license at a royalty of $180 per year. IBM strongly recommends that you obtain a license to use and access X12 metadata, represented in, for example, more than 30 versions of more than 300 transaction sets and implementation guides, through X12’s online viewer.
