WEDI Survey

WEDI serves as an advisor to the department of Health and Human Services (HHS) related to HIPAA mandates. WEDI recently released a survey designed to identify the potential impact of moving from the currently mandated version of X12 implementation guides to a more current version of the following:

  • Health Care Claim Payment/Advice (835)
  • Health Care Claim: Professional (837P)
  • Health Care Claim: Institutional (837I)
  • Health Care Claim: Dental (837D)

The survey collects information about the perceived value of the new functionality and the estimated implementation costs. Responses are due by June 30 and WEDI will share the results in August at their Summer Forum. The survey is available at surveymonkey.com/r/XTJKBBX.

X12 believes there is great value in moving forward to more current versions of these implementation guides and we are asking X12 member organizations to do two things:

  1. Thoughtfully complete the survey
  2. Encourage your trading partners and other organizations to complete the survey

It is important for X12 to know which of our members, partners, and other implementers are willing to provide statements of support for advancing the versions of these, and other, X12 Implementation Guides. You can contact me through email or you can submit the information on our feedback formYou can also let me know via any of those methods if you need more information or if I need to speak to someone else in your organization.

Sincerely,

Cathy Sheppard
X12 CEO
