Description
We are finding that submitters use the Occurrence segment inconsistently. Some are submitting using the Occurrence Information segment and other are submitting only when the discharge date is different than the Statement To date.
RFI Response
It is not compliant with the guide to submit an Other Entity ID with the XX qualifier. The qualifier XX is to be used to identify NPIs exclusively. If a provider cannot obtain a NPI then they should submit the other ID as the billing provider secondary identification (2010BB REF02) with a G2 qualifier.
