Publishing the 008060 Implementation Guides

Earlier this year, X12 leadership, including the ASC and X12N officers, spent some time considering the importance of producing 008060 implementation guides early in 2025. A number of enhancements important to health care industry stakeholders are expected to be approved for inclusion in the 008060 version.

After much deliberation, X12 will defer publication of the 008050 implementation guides in favor of focusing on publishing the 008060 implementation guides as soon as possible in 2025. This does not impact the publication of the EDI Standard. X12's 008060 EDI Standard will be published in January 2025 as usual.

Publishing the 008060 implementation guides is critical to X12's goal of timely delivery of enhancements our members and other industry stakeholders need to support their evolving business processes and data requirements, as well as supporting federal and state rulemaking activities.
