Can values not listed in the guide under 2110C EB04 be used? I have noted that the element is a three-character maximum, but all the codes listed in the guide are only two characters.
In this sample EB segment, is the EB04 value of “230” allowable?

The implementation guide explicitly lists the only available and allowable code values for the EB04 element based on the version of the TR3. While the standard and the TR3 lists the element as a length minimum of 1, and length maximum of 3, the element’s code value list in the TR3 only includes the codes two in length; as 005010X279A1 is no longer modifiable, only those codes from the standard that are listed in the 005010X279A1 TR3 are permissible to be used.
